Water Polo Game Set Up and Volunteers Needed for Home Games


Minimum volunteers needed per Game: Game Clock controller, scorekeeper and exclusion secretary. Game clock controller could use an assistant.


  1. Game Clocks, Shot Clocks and Desktop controller

    1. kept upstairs in pool offices in a gray cabinet

    2. Desktop controller must be plugged into charge when returned to cabinet (charger remains in cabinet)

    3. Need 2x 25ft extension cords for shot clocks and/or batteries

    4. See Colorado Time Systems Table top controller instruction sheet on how to use the controller and the Game Time or Shot Clock Timer sheets for detailed instructions on how run the game

  2. Exclusion Board (kept in a storage closet near the boys bathroom)- dry erase markers and erasers are kept in the WP container. Fill in team names on the exclusion board and exclusion sheet, pull out red, white and blue flags. See Exclusion Secretary sheet for instructions.

  3. Scoresheet- Fill in team and player names before game begins -see WP Score Sheet Instructions and Working the Water Polo Desk for step by step process

  4. Set out a towel and ball holder for Refs on game table


Spectators and parents should not be sitting with or talking to game table volunteers during game play-it’s very distracting.


Do not let anyone, including players, walk in front of the game table.
